FIFA World Cup 2026 Food Guide: Where to Eat in Every U.S. Host City | Sweet Paris

World Cup 2026 watch party at Sweet Paris with French Riviera cocktails and a Le Champion chocolate crêpe with edible gold soccer ball

For 39 days this summer, the world’s biggest sporting event is parking itself in our backyard. Here’s an honest guide to eating well in the cities hosting it — written by a French crêperie that happens to live in three of them.

The World Cup Is Coming. So Is Everyone Else.

From June 11 to July 19, 2026, the FIFA World Cup will play 78 of its 104 matches on U.S. soil — across 11 American host cities — making this the largest tournament in the sport’s history and the busiest 39-day stretch the American hospitality industry has ever seen.

That’s a lot of soccer. It’s also a lot of hungry travelers who have never been to Houston, never tried real Texas barbecue, never figured out where the locals actually eat brunch in Miami. If you’re one of them — welcome. If you’re a local trying to plan watch parties and pre-game meals — pull up a chair.

We’ll be upfront about one thing: we’re Sweet Paris, a French crêperie and café with locations in three of the U.S. host cities (Houston, Dallas, and Miami). We’re going to mention ourselves in this guide. We’re also going to tell you about all the other places worth eating at, because gatekeeping is rude and you deserve a real guide, not a sales pitch.

Here’s how the 2026 World Cup is mapping across American food cities — and how to eat your way through it.

The 11 American Host Cities (And What You’re Eating in Each One)

Houston — 7 matches at NRG Stadium

Houston is the most underrated food city in America, and the World Cup is about to expose the secret. Seven matches at NRG Stadium (officially renamed "Houston Stadium" during the tournament) between June 14 and July 4, including powerhouses like Germany, Portugal, and the Netherlands.

What to eat: Pappas Bros. Steakhouse on Westheimer is — and we will die on this hill — the best steakhouse in the world. Pinkerton’s on Shepherd for the barbecue we are currently obsessed with (Michelin Bib Gourmand). Uchi on Westheimer for sushi. Hugo’s for interior Mexican (James Beard). El Tiempo Cantina or Los Tios in West University for Tex-Mex. Maison Chinoise on West Gray for modern Chinese. For breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert: our eight Sweet Paris Houston locations, about a 20-minute drive from NRG.

Dallas — 9 matches at AT&T Stadium (including a semifinal)

Dallas hosts more matches than any other venue in the tournament — nine total, including the semifinal on July 14. Argentina plays here twice. England opens against Croatia here. Lionel Messi might literally be in town. (Dallas Stadium is the FIFA tournament name; locals still call it AT&T or just "Jerry World.")

What to eat: The Mansion Restaurant at Rosewood for one swing-for-the-fences night out. Pappas Bros. Steakhouse for the steak (Wine Spectator Grand Award). Carbone Dallas for Italian — the hardest reservation in the city. Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum for barbecue. Mi Cocina in Highland Park Village for Tex-Mex (order the Mambo Taxi). Uchi or Tei-An for Japanese. For breakfast, brunch, and dessert: our four Sweet Paris Dallas locations.

Miami — 7 matches at Hard Rock Stadium (including the Bronze Final)

Miami is going to be electric. Hard Rock Stadium hosts seven matches between June 15 and July 18, including the third-place match on July 18. Brazil plays here. Portugal plays here. The South American supporter groups are going to take over the city for a month.

What to eat: Versailles in Little Havana for the iconic Cuban experience. Joe’s Stone Crab in South Beach (since 1913). The Surf Club Restaurant by Thomas Keller for one impossibly elegant night out. Prime 112 for the South Beach steakhouse with celebrities at the next table. Carbone Miami for Italian. La Mar by Gastón Acurio for Peruvian fine dining on the water. For breakfast, brunch, and dessert: our three Sweet Paris Miami locations (Worldcenter, Coral Gables, Doral).

Atlanta — 8 matches at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (including a semifinal)

Atlanta hosts the other semifinal on July 15. Food-wise: Buford Highway for the world’s best strip-mall international food, Busy Bee Cafe for soul food, Mary Mac’s Tea Room for Southern classics, and Staplehouse if you want fine dining.

Boston — 7 matches at Gillette Stadium (Foxborough)

Gillette is actually 35 miles south of Boston, so plan accordingly. In the city: Neptune Oyster for chowder and lobster rolls, the North End for Italian, Eventide Fenway for upscale-casual seafood.

Kansas City — 6 matches at Arrowhead Stadium

KC barbecue is the entire reason to be there. Q39, Joe’s Kansas City (the gas-station one), Jack Stack. End of conversation.

Los Angeles — 8 matches at SoFi Stadium (USA opens here June 12)

This is where Team USA’s tournament begins. Food: Howlin’ Ray’s for Nashville hot chicken, Bavel for Middle Eastern, Sushi Note for omakase that won’t bankrupt you, Grand Central Market for everything else.

New York / New Jersey — 8 matches at MetLife Stadium (the FINAL is here, July 19)

The final is here. The city is the city. Eat your way through Queens. Spend a Saturday in Flushing for Chinese, Jackson Heights for South Asian, Astoria for Greek. In Manhattan, do whatever your favorite food writer told you to do.

Philadelphia — 6 matches at Lincoln Financial Field

Cheesesteaks are the assignment but not the only one. Zahav for Israeli, Vetri for Italian, Federal Donuts for breakfast, Reading Terminal Market for everything.

San Francisco Bay Area — 6 matches at Levi’s Stadium (Santa Clara)

Tartine, Swan Oyster Depot, Tadich Grill, Mission burritos at La Taqueria. Drive south to Santa Clara on match day with a packed sourdough.

Seattle — 6 matches at Lumen Field (Team USA plays here June 19)

Pike Place is touristy but Pike Place Chowder is genuinely worth it. Canlis if you’re going big. Salare for Pan-African. Paseo for Cuban sandwiches at 2 a.m.

The Sweet Paris World Cup Game Plan

Three things to know if you’re in Houston, Dallas, or Miami this summer:

1. The $2 Game-Day Beverage Promo. Anytime USA or France plays a match — or anytime a match is played in your home city (Houston, Dallas, or Miami) — Sweet Paris is running French Riviera Cocktails, Mimosas, Frozen Mimosas, beer, and select wines for $2 at participating locations. Yes, $2. This is not a typo. SMS alerts go out the morning of the game. Join the rewards program so you don’t miss it.

2. Le Champion — The World Cup Crêpe. A chocolate crêpe filled with Nutella mousse and dulce de leche, drizzled in a soccer-net pattern, dusted with powdered sugar, and crowned with our signature edible gold chocolate soccer ball. Available June 1 through July 31. It’s dramatic. It’s delicious. It’s the most-photographed dessert we’ve put on a menu in years.

3. Creamy Pepper Jack Chicken Crêpe. Our savory seasonal counterpart — seasoned chicken, sautéed vegetables, mozzarella, and a creamy pepper jack cheese sauce, served with a Dijon-tossed spring mix. Made for pre-game lunch when you don’t want to be the person at the watch party with a stomach full of nachos.

What to Do If You Don’t Have Match Tickets

Match tickets are sold out for most fixtures and resale prices are brutal. Don’t lose sleep over it. Every host city has FIFA Fan Festivals with giant screens and full atmospheres (Fair Park in Dallas, Discovery Green in Houston, Bayfront Park in Miami) — and every halfway decent restaurant with a TV is going to be running a watch party.

Our recommendation, biased as it is: if you have kids or you want to actually hear yourself think, skip the loudest sports bars. A French crêperie with a full bar, a $2 beverage menu, and an espresso machine is honestly a more pleasant way to watch a 90-minute soccer match than a 200-person bar with three TVs and a wing fryer going off behind your head.

Frequently Asked Questions

Family-friendly options vary by city, but generally look for full-service restaurants with TVs, kids’ menus, and non-bar atmospheres.
